“Sacrificing the life of the unborn is against God, against Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, and hurts should-be Mothers.”
That’s according to Noel Johnson, president of the Crawford County Iowa Right to Life organization.
“We can sit and judge or we speak out, act out, and attempt to convert the pro-choice heart to love and appreciation of the sanctity of the unborn,” he said.
I first met him and his lovely wife, Sandy, in January when I spoke at the Iowa Right to Life annual event in Des Moines. After attending my workshop, we had a wonderful visit and were fast friends. They invited me to then speak at their county’s annual event where I was fortunate to meet so many other people in our state who are doing amazing things to protect unborn babies.
The Crawford County Right to Life was founded in April of 2013 at Our Savior Lutheran Church at 500 N. 24th St. in Denison by the church’s then Vicar and his wife.
Some of the CCRTL highlights of the past year include a 4th of July parade float, a fair booth in August, then a “Life Chain” in October leading up to the 40 Days for Life in Sioux City, a fundraiser this past March for Baby Boutique in Denison and the CCRTL Annual Conference in April.
Crawford County Right to Life website states that: it exists to protect and defend all human life from conception to natural death. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the dignity of life for all people including the unborn, the aged, and the infirm. We believe that every human life has value. We seek to educate and inform our community about life issues in a loving manner.
Johnson said there are two important things he wants women to know: 1) There are viable options other than abortion and 2) Abortion hurts women.
“57 million plus abortions can’t bode well for our country,” Johnson said. “Our country is in trouble! To me that started with Rowe vs Wade in 1973, and the Vietnam War. Attitudes changed. We have become a ‘Whats in it for ME,’ ‘Pass the Buck’ people. This has to change. We have to keep up the fight, not give in, and continue to help those in trouble.”
