People worldwide are actively hosting fundraising events and are displaying little blue pinwheels in support of April’s Prevent Child Abuse Awareness Month. As well they should — child abuse must not be tolerated. But what about the most horrific child abuse of them all?
Abortion.
During such a procedure, babies are pulled apart piece by piece and discarded or are chemically burned to death. Or, they’re expelled via a pill and flushed into the sewer. The child will never get to make memories with siblings or grandparents skipping rocks in Rapp Park’s waters, bicycling the Wabash Trace or sliding into Shenandoah’s pool. He or she will never go off to university or participate in community events.
Some at Chicago’s Christ Hospital have been born during the last trimester, wrapped in a blanket, placed in a well-decorated “comfort room” and left to die. On their website is stated, “We are equally bound to respect the sacredness of the life and well-being of the mother, for whom devastating damage may result from an unacceptable pregnancy.” Devastating damage, indeed. An unacceptable pregnancy is self-terminating anyway at the end of nine months, right? Then, the unacceptable human can be placed into the arms of eager parent-wannabes who’ll accept the child, whether he or she is born diseased or not.
We all know that no matter what we label “pregnancy tissue” wrapped around DNA and blood pulsing through veins, that the thing is 100 percent human.
If you’re not one to believe the Bible when it states “The life of the flesh is in the blood,” (Leviticus 17:11, for starters,) then consider science. Nearly 50 books used in medical schools today confirm: life begins the moment a sperm fertilizes an egg. That’s not one randomly published paper — that’s nearly 50 medical books.
Adolph Hitler said in a 1923 speech, “The Jews are undoubtedly a race, but not human. They cannot be human in the sense of being an image of God, the Eternal.” As a result, SIX million Jews were annihilated. FIFTY-SIX million American babies have been annihilated since 1973.
From the book “Hitler’s Last Secretary: A Firsthand Account of Life with Hitler” by Traudl Junge comes this: “The Russians were advancing with uncanny speed. Dreadful reports came from villages they’d occupied. Hitler was no longer in a good temper. When we came for tea … he had to make a great effort to forget, at least for a few hours, the pictures and reports from the East. Raped women, murdered children and mistreated men, death, misery and despair rose up to accuse him. He swore revenge and fanned the flames of hatred…
‘They’re not human beings any more, they’re animals from the steppes of Asia, and the war I am waging against them is a war for the dignity of European mankind. No price is too high for victory.’”
Re-labeling a people group does not alter molecular structure.
In 2011, there were 5,640 abortions in Iowa, according to the Guttmacher Institute, an arm of Planned Parenthood. Think about Shenandoah’s population. The Census Bureau counted 5,070 of us in 2013. We’re worried about “The Great Brain Drain” of our graduates going to college and not coming back yet we annually slaughter more than the number who live in our city. So yes, we must prevent child abuse.
I don’t care if they have all the money on the planet, I want nothing to do with any organization that performs or supports infanticide. Any other “good” they do is negated by their murderous evil. Nor do I want any such organization to provide sex training to our youth. There are plenty of other educational options ready for our use.
If you’re facing an “unacceptable” pregnancy, there are organizations to help you find air to breathe again and support your baby until the age of 3 with diapers, formula, clothing and even furniture. There are adoption agencies filled with caring people who’ll not only help care for the life growing inside the warmth of your womb, but will do everything in their power to care for your physical and emotional well-being.
I’m praying for you and so are many others. You don’t have to go it alone. Reach out to someone. You can start with Pregnancy Center of Southwest Iowa, or Gabriel’s Corner.
