I so appreciate people who write letters to editors. You folks are doers. Men and women who take the time to pen thoughts are the exception in our society, I believe.
Oh sure, social media posts can be made these days even from remote corners of the world, but those who take time to email or write to a newspaper editor are people of action. I appreciate that. I’ve always liked reading that newspaper section because theirs are the voices of the people impacted by decisions of city governments, for example. But in this case, these kind folks are simply writing kindly.
I’d like to take a moment for a special note of appreciation to J and Dianne Ables of Bellevue, and Joann Sosso of Papillion for responding to my most recent column in their city’s respective papers, the Bellevue Leader and the Papillion Times. The photos here are from the Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 publications in response to my column, “A long road back from hurt, shame.”
So many times in our day, those who speak up happen to do so in opposition of something. It’s refreshing to hear from those who encourage and support others.
