‘No One Could Know’ recounts Gray’s abortion and how God helped her heal

SHENANDOAH, Iowa –January of 2014 marked the 41st anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling, which legalized abortion in the United States. Abortion remains a hot button issue, but more and more women are opening up about their experiences. In her new memoir “No One Could Know” (published by WestBow Press), author Kristan Gray reaches out to other post-abortive women through her thought-provoking and often witty narrative about her own abortion, and the healing she found in God.

“I want the other 54 million post-abortive women to know the same gentle and compassionate healing God brought to my heart when I trusted in Him,” Gray passionately writes, “and to possibly prevent anyone else from experiencing what I did.”

In 1983, Gray was a teenager, brightly optimistic about her future, but with one positive pregnancy test her future became unsteady. She decided to go through with an abortion and afterwards began to show symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Less than a year later, Gray was raped by a friend, sending her into a downward spiral of eating disorders and bouts of depression. Gray turned to God for guidance and, through his mercy and love, was able to make a full recovery.

Gray brings brutal honesty to a personal topic and manages to find humor in even the darkest places. Her candid approach is sure to resonate with other readers dealing with the aftershock of an abortion, offering them comfort, support and healing.
