As I pulled on my knee-high brown leather boots for church today, I paused mid-zip and thought, “Hmm…I wonder if it’s still kosher to wear these in the spring…” A quick Pinterest.com hunt led me to Ivanka Trump’s line of shoes at Nordstrom’s. There, I found a resounding “YES!” According to Iconic Ivanka, boots are still very much in style for spring!
BUT…the phrase most often asked of red carpet movie stars came to mind – “Who are you wearing?” And I was challenged. Was I going to merely slip my skin into knock-off designer labels today, or put on something else altogether?
Our Ultimate “Designer” told of a much better wardrobe for us:
We women typically care about how we look, right? It’s even a great idea for you men to steal a peek in a mirror at some point every day, and make sure you’re not a walking-embarrassing-moment without realizing it! The Bible has other things to say about this:
I decided to wear something far more public-worthy than a super cute pair of boots with gray capris and scarf to go with my ruched mint green top. I’m clothed in Christ, and accessorized with “…love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such there is no…” fashion police.
As you too put on so much more every day before you walk out that door, I pray that you, “…go out with joy and are led forth with peace,” and LOVE WHO YOU’RE WEARIN’!
In Him,
Kristan
